Gibson L-4 1933Early 1933 round sound-hole L-4In late 1928 the L-4 was redesigned in this new round hole configuration. It retained the 16? body shape, but the carved top had new proportions and was thinner and more lightly braced. The first of these were decorated more simply than the oval hole styles that preceded them and in fact as the depression set-in, these remained austere yet elegant in appearance. courtesy of D BuetttnerThe catalog page is from the 1937 Gibson catalog.
