Description
Bourgeois, the A-360 is a carved, cutaway archtop. Each piece is built by hand in Pantheon’s Lewiston, Maine shop by Dana Bourgeois and a team of seven craftsmen. The instruments are individually signed by Dana Bourgeois. Known primarily for flattop guitars, Dana built his first archtop in 1982. Although production of these guitars has been limited, Bourgeois archtops are loved and played by various artists including Darren Vincent, guitarist with Ricky Skaggs. Dana says: “I have always loved the sound of the acoustic archtop – guys like Eddie Lang and Carl Kress pulled great tone from those guitars. The archtop guitar and modern steel string guitar have common beginnings and have always influenced the development of each other. The Bourgeois A-360 Archtop is voiced and braced to be an acoustic instrument, and at 16″ x 3”, it is sized for a balance of tone and power. Traditional appointments include a solid Premium Spruce top and solid Premium Curly Maple back and sides and features a Bourgeois snakehead headstock and a three-piece Curly Maple neck. The pickguard, tailpiece and fretboard are ebony with white purfling line. A violin colored finish has been applied to the back, sides and neck, while the spruce top features a violin style sunburst. Both the body and neck on the A-360 have a high gloss finish. Gold Schaller tuners with ebony buttons. This blonde A-360 is the only blonde A-350 built to date.
